I have an HP Proliant N40L microserver running as a server for data (backup) and as a media streamer to various TVs and mobile devices around the house. The server is running Windows Home Server 2011.

The server is located in a cupoard, with quite difficult access.

I also have 3xPCs, all running Win 7 Home Premium. I can control the server using the web broswer interface from the other PCs, however I cannot, for example install new progs, etc on it remotely, and have to take it out and connect it to a mouse/keyboard/monitor, which is a pain…

Will this solution, i.e. enabling Remote Web Access on the Win7 PCs solve my problem?

Thanks in adavnce – and please bear with me – I am a real novice…

You can use RDP from your Win7 machines to the server to install programs.
