Say I want to use HDMI to output the front left and right audio channels in uncompressed form for speakers connected to my television and use my HTPC’s 780G built-in codec to do so….

Say I also want to tell my HTPC to output the center, LF, back, and side channels (using Dolby or DTS) out through the HTPC’s Realtek codec over an optical or coax connection….

Would it be possible to selectively assign codecs and outputs to the various 8 channels of audio streams?

Other situation examples where this could be useful:

    – Assignment of back audio channels to broadcast wirelessly over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

    – Using MSI’s Media Live Diva and assigning two uncompressed channels over HDMI (using the 780G chipset codec) to Front Left and Front Right, while also assigning the remaining 6 channels (uncompressed) to the board’s audio DSP analog outputs.

    – Using a configuration like the one above for the MSI Live Diva, but routing two or more channels through a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi wireless broadcast.

If this is possible, how would you program the configurations?

Also, I just ordered an MSI Media Live Diva (7.1 pre-amp version). After I get it and after I build a new machine with it, I’ll write a review and post it here!
