On my mad quest to find affordable hardware to capture HD analog video, I think I finally found a second option (Happauge’s HD-PVR being the first). This one’s from Dvico:

It’s priced a little more, but it’s jam-packed with features not included with the Hauppauge product. According to the specs, it encodes not only in h.264 as the HD-PVR does but also in MPEG, Dvix, etc. Using one of these alternative encoding codecs, might it be possible to get it working with VMC?
Here’s another interesting product by K-World…

It’s a PCIe analog tuner that comes with component video inputs. The U.S. website says “480i/480p” in a footnote. But 480p is still improvement over 480i and 480p can be up-converted to 720p or 1080i?
By the way, has there been any work arounds to get HD-PVR working with VMC?
