I’m sure there was a PS3 listed for $599 a few pages away. It’s still twice the price of an HD-DVD player, but deserves mentioning. Some retailers might have some of the $499 ones even. Today’s firmware update version 1.80 finally adds scaling to movies. It can now upscale regular DVDs, and can scale blu-rays down to 720p.
