News - Reference Home Theater "hands-on" LG OLED, calls it best display ever

If you were waiting for OLED to get perfect, it might finally be time to grab one. Interestingly, all the 2017 LG OLEDs have the same panel and SoC, so the excellent performance should be consistent across all models. No reason to pay extra for the fancy looks.

News - CNET knows OLED

I'd really, really like an OLED TV, but with a still quite decent PDP to "make do" with it's been a bit difficult to justify the purchase; especially given #3 on CNET's "should I upgrade" questions. Even if you're not in the market. It is a good breakdown of what's out there, and how much it will hurt to bring it home.

News - LG E6 OLED reviewed at HDTVtest

LG's OLED display continue to review very well, with some improvements from previous years. It's actually this reasonably rapid improvement that makes me hesitate the most when it comes to picking up an OLED display.

LG 65EF9500 4K OLED TV reviewed @ HTR

Unless you get a killer deal, or just absolutely cannot wait a few months, now's probably the wrong time to buy a high-end 2015 4K display. Much better to wait until the 2016s are well established, and pick up one of those or swoop in and pick up one of these from the bargin bin (if you can). That said, there is A LOT to like about the 2015 LG OLEDs, so the review is quite enlightening (great picture & color accuracy, not great VPP) and worth a read.

News - LG Signature OLED first impression - impressive

LG announced their "Signature" OLED 4K displays at CES, and they are just starting to trickle out into a limited number of high-end showrooms. Until I get a chance to go have a look myself, I'll be relying on others to tell us what they think. HDTVtest is very reliable when it comes to this sort of thing so, if you're following developments in OLED closely it's a must read.

News - Speaking of 4K demo material. LG is just about ready to roll out their droolworthy Signature OLED TVs

If you had a hard time not grabbing one of LG's OLEDs last year, it's going to be even more difficult this time around. Their outstanding displays have only gotten better; both in the picture quality and the eye candy quadrants - with the G6 'Signature' line at the top. Naturally, if you're going to drop $8K on a display, you will want to see it and LG is stating to roll out the demo models. HD GURU has the details.

Nothing brings [mild] regret for electronics purchases like CES, and it looks like a big one for anyone who picked up a 2015 LG OLED owners with the 2016's getting a slew of really nice upgrades (10-bit support!). Display expert Robert Heron breaks it down for us.

News - Amazon HDR Video now available on LG's awesome OLEDs

Unless you have a fantastically large display, or sit really close to your moderately sized 4K TV, HDR is arguably the most important feature “get” of new 4K displays – should they support it (i.e. don’t buy one that doesn’t). With the future of 4K content probably more in the hands of OTT providers (sorry Blu-ray Association) announcements like today’s that Amazon and LG are turning on the HDR for the video service. Yum… Now I just need to figure out how to get one of these displays Smile.

News - HDTVtest Provides The Tech Bits To Its PDP v OLED Shootout

Forbes was the first to release the results, and I was happy to cover it here, but as their audience is less technical they left out some of the bits that you and I might find interesting. Thankfully HDTVtest, who handled the calibration, has posted up the specifics. Go ahead and get your geek on.

News - WHAT HI-FI Reviews LG 65EF950V OLED 4K TV

LG must be doing the full PR press with all the 4K OLED reviews popping up in the last few days. Granted, this is the first one I've seen for the UK version of the flat 65" display, so it was nice to see.
