News - Axiim announces "WM Series" WiSA speakers

If the idea of a wireless AVR+speaker system from Axiim sounds interesting to you, but were waiting for something a bit grander/larger/towery than what they've had on offer so far... The wait is over, for pre-order anyway with the just announced WM Series. The spec's look interesting and I would expect performance to be a step up from the existing system. Oh, and they come paired with the long awaited Q UHD (which looks to have finally popped up as well).

Head over to the Axiim website to have a look.

News - SVS Elevation speakers reviewed at High Def Digest

SVS's Elevation speakers are an interesting option for building out a Dolby Atmos setup because of their unique shape. This is the first review I've seen, and there weren't any major suprises (read they did well).

News - Axiim announces 4K Q, will upgrade existing users FOR FREE!

Wow. Just wow. It's not that often where you open a product announcement email to find out that the company is upgrading existing users for free. But, that's just what Axiim just did in their latest newsletter. Fixing one of my few, and arguably most important, complaints with the Q.

I need to lay down...

News - SVS announces Prime Elevation directional speaker

In an ideal world, we'd all have perfectly shaped theater rooms. With ample space to place speakers in all the right places to create the right sound now matter what. Unfortunately, architects and spouses don't always allow for these environments to takes shape. That's where the recently announced SVS Prime Elevation speaker comes in with an angled shape that lets you point the output in a more targeted way. Allowing us to get the best from the room we've been dealt Smile.

News - Raumfeld wireless speakers reviewed @ RHT

I hadn't heard of Raumfeld before, but after reading the review I'm quite intrigued. While there are few issues pointed out by the reviewer, it seems like solid kit and a welcome entrant in to the wireless home audio market.

News - SVS brings SoundPath pivoting bracket to market

SVS Sound does a great job with accessories. Good looking and reasonably priced (just like the speakers Smile). They have introduced a pivoting wall/ceiling mount to help you build the perfect Dolby Atmos setup using Prime Satellites for height and width channels. I didn't see any pricing info in the PR, will update if I hear back on it.

Update: Cheaper than I expected. $40/pair.

News - Speaker placement 101

Not only does SVS make some killer speakers, they also have a blog with lots of useful information for home theater enthusiasts. This one is on speaker placement. I'm assuming you all are comfortable with the 5.1/7.1 setups, but past that into Dolby Atmos... I certainly learned a thing or two.

News - axiim nears BETA end point

You should have read Missing Remote's first look at the axiim Q Wireless Home Theater System (if you haven't, seriously!!!). So you'll all know that it's currently in BETA, and therefore offers a pretty steep discount off the eventual SRP. If you have been pondering potentially purchasing this WiSA based home audio system, there won't be much more time to pick it up without paying full price.

News - FLUANCE announces XL5F floor standing speaker

I have to admint that I really like the looks of these speakers, and the spec's are enticing at the $400/pair price point.

News - SVS SoundPath Cables reviewed @ RHT

I'll be honest. I usually avoid audio cable reviews because, well... they are generally fluff. There just isn't any value to be had from getting riled up reading about the unicorn mane and dodo tears that went into the manufacture of an over-priced bit of metal. But, when I saw SVS's new SoundPath cables reviewed on Reference Home Theater, I thought it just might be worth 30 seconds Smile. Fortunately, there was no mention of arcane manufacturing processes and we already knew the cables were reasonably priced... I can't help but wonder though; given the reviewer's own words on the subject - why only 4.5/5 for performance?
