I am interested in purchasing a digital cable card tuner for my self-built home theater personal computer (htpc).  I am running windows xp pro sp2 and use beyondTV.

I've got regular analog cable through Comcast and my HTPC is running Vista Home Premium (using VMCE) with an HDCP capable video card. If it was possible for me to add/replace my existing tuners with DCTs then I would also upgrade to digital cable (with an HD package) just to make use of it. Not only that I'd also go out and pick up a few 360s to use as extenders (probably two, one a Core and the other an Pro) for both of the bedrooms in my apartment.

I would absolutely love to have this for Vista.

P.S. Not to mention I'd upgrade my cable service to a higher package as well. So right now the cable company is losing money because I can't DIY a cablecard system.

Count me in too.  I have to think that Microsoft already is aware of how everyone feels.

I currently use Directv but would consider switching to cable if this option were available.

If I had a cable card HTPC, I too, would consider a digital cable package, but I will not be buying a pre-built machine.

I would also love to have this and would upgrade my cable service to take advantage of the extra channels.

Having cablecards would be a most desirable feature but I'm not holding my breath.  I'm with FIOS right now and have two S3 Tivos with cablecards to record the channels I can't get with my HTPC.  It would be nice not to have to pay the Tivo service fee but alas, I'm already locked into a 3-year agreement so I'm stuck with it.  Chances are we won't see cablecards available to the DIYer with an HTPC until after my commitment expires anyway.  I believe the option is only available if you have a turnkey HTPC from HP or some other manufacturer.
