News - Amazon Adds Paramount Pictures to Prime Instant Videos

In early February, Amazon and Viacom signed a deal to bring many of Viacom's television programs to Amazon's Prime Instant Video service. At the time, we noted that the deal did not include any movies and speculated that Amazon would need to ink a separate deal with Viacom-owned Paramount Pictures. Sure enough, Amazon announced this week that they have signed a three year deal with Paramount that will bring hundreds of movies to Prime Instant Videos including Star Trek, Nacho Libre, and Mission Impossible. The announcement wasn't exactly earth-shattering given that Amazon and Viacom had already gotten cozy, but it's always nice to see the major streaming services continue to build out their selection.
