Yahoo sports for TV

OK, so it's that time of the year again. Time for FANTASY FOOTBALL!

So anyways, I was wondering if anyone has used Yahoo sports for TV and can give a "review" of sorts. I'm assuming this is the same thing that was only available to Viiv users last year, but now it looks like it's there for all MCE users. Lovely since I'm my league's champ and I'm also a cheap bastard that never bought the Stat Tracker.  Wink

Anyways, with any hope I'll have Vista up and running by September and I was curious about a few things... such as using this Yahoo thing with extenders (cuz that price drop on the xbox 360 plus the addition of HDMI and 65nm is FAR too tempting!).

Anybody currently have a fantasy baseball account that can check it out and give us a preview of what we can expect? Or did anybody with Viiv actually use it last year? Need info!

ok, so...from what i can tell, it still won't do live tracking unless you pay. so basically, you see exactly what you would see on the yahoo sports page.

it's actually pretty cool. so you can have on the left side, your league's head-to-head scores (which i'm guessing would update live if you paid), and then on the right (larger) side, you can either view all your players, or even go into Live-TV and actually watch whatever while you still have the scores there.

Pretty neat overall. Too bad i use Sportsline for my serious football league Tongue

Foo. So I still have to pay. Heheh. No biggie though, that does sound pretty cool! I might just spring for stat tracker depending on how our draft goes. If my team is really crappy I won't bother. They always give a free preview of stat tracker the first week of the season anyhow, so hopefully I can check it out with the live stats before deciding.

yeah, i only pay to play in 1 league. shame we don't use yahoo for that, otherwise i'd have it for all my leagues.

Well, as many of you know I did eventually install Vista (though quite a few months later than the original post stated I would). Anyway, it was still football season at the time, albeit the tail end. I tried to find this Yahoo thing. In fact it was one of the things I was most looking forward to checking out. But I couldn't find it. I still can't. Figured since this was opening week of baseball season I'd check again. No dice. Anybody know what happened to this?

good catch, gone for me as well. And now doesn't look like there's any Viacom Online Spotlight apps either. Sheeeesh, dropping like flies.

At least we still have the Fox Sports Portal.....for now?!?!?!?

I am VERY disappointed. Sad

I even had a friend in my fantasy league who was willing to get into media center specifically for the sports integration! So much for that, guess he never will now. And I was even going to pay for stat tracker just to get the full experience. Guess I'll save my $$ now, thanks Yahoo. Tongue

*grumble*
I guess Fox Sports Portal is better than nothing, though.
