What remotes can control Vista MCE?

What remotes can control Vista MCE?

I recently purchased the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1600 and love it.  I am thinking about buying Vista for its great MCE capabilities, but wasn't sure how I'd be able to control it via a remote.  Can the included Hauppauge remote control Vista MCE (i..e. play/pause, menu, etc)?  If not, what remotes do people prefer?  I do have a USB-UIRT but I don't think Girder supports Vista yet so I was wondering what my other options might be.

I believe there's some ways to get the Hauppauge remote to work with MCE, but it takes a lil effort.

For the easiest solution, check out the Philips/Microsoft MCE Remote, which can be had for around $35 at Newegg, and works fine. If you're patient, there will be some nice (more expensive Vista Sideshow remotes coming out soon as well)

I know this doesn't apply to you Lehigh, but if anyone ever needs them, I manually snagged all the IR codes from an MCE remote a long while ago and have them for any Universal Remote Control branded remotes.

JoeStalin - I actually do have a URC remote and woud be interested in the IR codes.  Can you send me a private message or attach them to a post in this thread?  And do your IR codes assume I must have the MCE IR receiver?  Or can I somehow get this to work with USB-UIRT?

Are you running a JP1 remote?  if so, goto the yahoo jp1 repository and grab the MCE definition file for your URC remote.  Google for Jp1.

Sorry I didn't see that. Let me know if you still need help. I know I've got them in a backed up file from several MX-3000 installs, I just need to export the codes. If not, I will make you one fresh.

Hey Joe - yeah it would be good if you could send me anything you have when you get a minute.  I am mainly looking for the remote button and the associated EFC code.  I should be able to do everything else in RemoteMaster.  Feel free to post directly in this thread for others to see.  Thanks Joe!
