IF I'm not into HTPC nor already building up/rip my Bluray library, I'll certainly grab the BDP-CX960 model for the HT in a heart beat!! and it looks like it could be rack mount too!!
Sony`s Blu-ray MegaChanger hits the streets next month with new ES standalone
LOL...... that's true!!! it will be a lot easier to take the changer than the KURO and will worth a lot more $$!! LOL......
No ES badge? Hmph! What good is my DTS logo if I don't have an ES one to match?!
Does anyone know if these are actually made by Sony? Or are they just re-branded Powerfile ones like their old C200's were?
400 Blu-Ray discs ripped and stripped using Clown_BD would be more in the neighborhood of about 10 TB (most stripped BD discs average about 25GB in my experience). My unRAID server already has the capacity to handle more discs than that (currently at 11.5TB and growing). I can share my entire DVD and BD collection with every PC in the house. I don't think this mega changer has that capability. At least I can hide my server out of sight whereas the Sony would have to sit where I can see it in order to use the remote, although I'm sure it could be set up remotely with an IR repeater if it came to that.
I wouldn't be too worried about someone walking off with a fully loaded changer. The weight of the player is probably pretty hefty in itself if it has to be able to handle 400 discs. Throw in the weight of 400 BD discs and you're looking at a hernia waiting to happen.

Let me just say this about that...
Going on the assumption that the average retail price for a BD disc is around $30ish and times 400 discs which means someone is going to stuff $12,000 worth of plastic and encoded tinfoil into that box. Sony needs to devise a way to bolt that unit to the foundation and install a lojack as a backup.
Dang!
