Omaura TF11--

Hey,

Anyone get their hands on a TF11 yet? They've been available out of USA, but they listed DELL as an e-tailer not too long ago. I'd love a good review with pictures. Preferably with info concerning compatible coolers [zalman tower coolers] and video cards w/ aftermarket heatsinks [full length gtx's/ gx2]

Thanks!

Awesome! I'm planning to move to one from a Silverstone LC03. and I'd love to have a big video card for gaming too

If you haven't seen this yet, here is a somewhat humorous video demonstrating the strength of the TF11 hard drive cage. Caution: the music contains language that may be considered NWS.

Hey,

I'm looking for compatibility for tower cpu coolers like the CNPS9700NT, and long gpu's such as the 9800gx2. I don't want to have to modify the drive bay area to accomodate full length graphics cards.

It would be nice to able to see where and how the two 80mm intake fans can be installed.  It also is hard to see the finish on the front surface.  Does it have a bit of a rough texture which scatters reflections, or more of the traditional brushed alu look?

so yea... will a 9600gt or longer fit without having to dremel out a hard drive spot?

I plan on doing a full review with pictures if I ever get my prize from winning the Omaura contest in January.  The prize includes a TF-11, OL-LED, HDD, and TFT.

Damn, congratulations!

It's like May now though... why haven't you gotten your prize yet?

I'm not so optimistic.

I don't believe that my shipment has anything to do with the Dell stock.  It was supposed to come straight from China.  My contact was supposed to be checking on what the heck is going on and inform me by yesterday.

Dude, that's not right. You should have had that prize a long, long time ago.  Shame on you Omaura! Now everyone here should get a free TFT to make up for it!  Wink

lol. im down for that! i wish the Omaura HDD thing was a little cheaper... It's more expensive than the tf11!!! I got fed up with super expensive hdd cages so i bought 2 silverstone bay converters and mounted them on black plexiglass, all together, it cost me $150 and it can hold up to 8 hdds!

It's ok.  It is a heck of a prize, its free, and I'm patient since my Antec Fusion is working just fine.  Still, I look forward to trying out the new stuff and a black TF-11 will match my entertainment center much better than the silver Fusion.

My silver Fusion is going to the bedroom and the TF11 will take it's place in the living room, where it will better match the rest of my mostly-black equipment. I also wanted some flexibility and expandability which is why I went with the TF11 over the TF8.

Which CPU coolers/fans are you guys using in your builds?  I'm using a Ninja Mini with a 92mm Scythe Kama Flex.  But, I'm not too sure how I'm going to orient the fan.  It seems there are really only 3 possibilites.  There really isn't room enough up against the back of the optical drive, at least with my IDE cable.  It wouldn't make much sense to sandwich it in between the chassis wall and the cooler either on the "right" side of the case (looking straight on).

So, either I could mount it on the "left" side of the cooler either pushing or pulling air through it, or stick it on the back side of the cooler, pulling air through it toward the rear of the case.

I've read that pushing air through a cooler is more effective than pulling air, but if I'm pushing air from the left side of the cooler, I've got the PSU fan and the CPU fan facing each other and blowing air in opposite directions.  I suppose it could be OK, but wondering if the other 2 options might be better.

Ninja Mini with the stock fan, at least initially. I'm starting with the fan the "left" side of the cooler pushing air through it.  I don't think I can do it any other way, except maybe pulling air though the cooler and out the rear exhaust fans. It looks pretty tight though.

I will have pictures up on my ' Next Build' thread in a little while.
