Not a bad article, but it's tough to do a real side-by-side comparison of two highly complex products.  That's why I think there should be a comparison made of specific features.  :wink wink:

Also, I think they did a disservice by not going into the additional functionality I assume (Lothar/John, where are you?) you can add to MythTV through 3rd party add-ons.  You are severely limited in that regard on a Tivo.  That's the main "feature" going for a DIY DVR.
