monoprice.com rocks

If you need cables for basically anything they have really great quality cables and very nice prices.

I bought a 25' hdmi cable rated for in-wall use (cl2) for $38, I would have been lucky to get a 3 meter cable from bestbuy at anywhere close to that.

Also bought a 25' dvi cable and a 25' composite cable, very nice cabling.  Amazingly thick and heavy.

Anyway, highly recommended by the most people at avsforums, I am a highly satisfied customer.

You can count me in as a another very very satisfied customer! I have been nothing but happy when it comes with my cable purchases from monoprice. They are reasonably priced I end up buying more then I need just in case Smile. You can never have too many lengths of ethernet cable Wink Smile.

The prices for cables at Best Buy is the closest I've ever felt to being violated.  It's that ridiculous.

One of the nicest things about monoprice, other than the bulk-rate discount, is that the shipping costs....are ACTUAL shipping costs.  when my last package full of 5 different things arrived, the postage sticker on the front was exactly what I paid.  I have no idea how these guys do it, but the cables have always worked great, and I'll ALWAYS recommend them.

it's scarier if you've ever worked at best buy, where employee price is actually 15% above cost or something.

Those gold plated $30 cables....cost me like $4 back in the day. I felt so bad selling those to people!

Just ordered a bunch of Xmas presents (HDMI and component cables) from monoprice. I love it. People are going to think I spent so much on them (*evil smile*)!

And I have to agree with Beelzerob in that the shipping price is refreshingly reasonable. I really like Newegg's standard per-piece shipping (what you see is what you pay), but I'm left scratching my head when I see a 0.4 oz cable which costs a dollar with a shipping cost of $4.99....

Lets not get started on Best Buy.  I almost go ballistic every time I hear one of their sales people say "I don't work on commission."  Like that is supposed to make me feel comfortable.

lol, you realize they force them to say it. They're trained that they MUST say "we don't work on commission, so feel free to ask anything you'd like" blah blah

What they don't tell you is that the managers are heavily bonused for the number of Service Plans their people sell Wink

They only say that now because they used to be commission. I worked at Circuit City when it still was on commission (around 1996 or so). And boy were salespeople pushy and overbearing. Many customers still remember the experiences they had back then, and in order to counter that negativity the best way is to let them know up front that the salespeople aren't like that anymore. It may not be comforting to people like us who know a lot about electronics anyway (as well as store policy) but to the average Joe it's probably  quite helpful. They have no idea they're still getting ripped off.

I miss working for a store like that though. We got to buy stuff at store cost. FYI batteries were the highest marked up item in the entire store. I remember the day I left I went on a shopping spree.  Wink

Uh oh, it looks like you guys told too many people about monoprice....
I looked there yesterday about ordering a 12 foot TOSLink and a 10 foot HDMI cable but they're out of both.  Their website also said shipping would be slow due to heavy volume of orders.
My Playstation 3 is already on a UPS truck headed my way, so I went to Walmart today to buy those cables.  Walmart only had 6foot cables, and it was $15-17 for the TOSLink,  $30-35 for the HDMI.    Even worse the official PS3 HDMI cable is $60 for a 6.5 foot.
I think I'll wait a week for monoprice and save myself $25.
Thank you Jiffylush and other people, you saved me $25 now, and probably more in the future.

ha, I live just few blocks away from monoprice.  I get the deal of all deals.  No shipping charge for me.  Great quality at incredible price.  Can't beat monoprice.  I sound like a salesman...lol
