Yay! Not like I haven't been saying it was bound to happen soon since the HD-DVD add-on started being sold.

Now if only they build in the HD-DVD too.
Oh and it looks like Engadget may have gotten slammed, if you can't get to the article, Kotaku reposted it:

This is why I haven't bought a 360 yet, all for a port that should have been on the damn thing from the start.
If this is true, it makes me happy I didn't get one yet as well. I was starting to get really tempted for Gears of War and the HD DVD addon. This makes it that much more important to wait, especially for the HD DVD addon's sake, HDMI will make using the 360 as a hidef player more future proof.

I saw that this morning, it is interesting, the 120gb hd is great news.
Getting closer?

Add HDMI out to that and I'll buy one, not until then will I get a 360 (well, maybe a cheap Core to use as an Extender or something like that... maybe).
It is hdmi out.
I wonder why they chose not to include an internal HD DVD drive (conspiracy wheels start turning)

MS has been very clear on their position with the HD DVD drive. They feel that there is no reason to burden the user with a drive they might not ever use (unlike Sony and the PS3). The HD DVD drive will always be an add-on since it is not required for gaming.

Well, it is only rumored to exist at all
, the one pictured was a mod, so assuming it isn't complete rumor...

They were also very clear that they were not going to be selling a 360 with HDMI-out at a later date, so we may want to take that into consideration.
I was kind of thinking this would be similar to the PSX, or upgraded gamecube. Increased features at an increased price.
Of course looking at the price mentioned I think it is similar in pricing to the existing non-core (basically non-core + hd dvd = 60gb ps3).
I wish something would come official soon. I've been holding off on a 360 with HDMI for freakin ever. It's even harder now that I have Vista everywhere but my Media Center.
Just saw this via Digg. Retailers claiming a May 1 sale date of the new and improved 360.

sweet!
Now I just have to sell a kidney to afford one....
I'm still laughing at the name. Any gamer would be amused at this limited edition black version being called "elite" if they know anything about gaming culture/slang.
L33T!
But according to that one article, the hardware in it will make its way to the Premium (original white color) xbox in a few months anyway, and that won't cost any more than it does now. Might even be less.
