Life With A Plugin Episode 17: Radiotime

Of course, once again, I throw in my obligatory "does it work on extenders?" question.  Wink

Although even if it does, I'm such a last.fm fiend that I'll probably install this and hardly ever end up using it.

One feature request I could think of, in the spirit of Media Center (although I'm not sure of any legal ramifications) would be the ability to timeshift radio. Have the ability to schedule recordings of certain programs, since the app does have program listings. Having this ability would more than easily make this a must have for everyone!

You mean like RedButton? http://radiotime.com/downloadcenter.aspx

ugh, commercial plugins Tongue But good to know, totally didn't know it existed, thanks!

And yes, this should work fine on Extenders Smile

I couldn't find it off of the main site so I googled it.  Here's the link: http://radiotime.com/partners/mediacenter.aspx

Hehe, you're not the only one, I couldn't find it either and had googled it as well.  Wink
Now I don't feel so dumb considering others had the same problem. Haha!

Turns out, it's actually an ad link that swaps out with an iphone ad on the right hand side of the site's main page. When it did show up for me, I got a 404 error when I clicked on it, likely due to my ad blocking software. It worked from my cellphone though. They really should put the link in a more prominent location that is always present. The RedButton link is in the footer for instance, it could have gone there and been persistent on all pages.

Yeah, mceFM. But the developer has kind of abandoned it. Luckily, I think he did release the source, but nobody seems to be picking it up. It still works for me, although it is a bit ugly (both in terms of usability and also aesthetics of the UI).

There was also a "life with a plugin" review of it done here on MR awhile back:

Okay, I installed the Radiotime plug in and instead of it having a standard install shield wizard it put an icon on my desktop that would launch the Radiotime application.  This icon does open the app but I do not see an icon by default in my MCE screen.  I used MCE Mender to add the app but now when I select the icon I setup in MCE, it closes my MCE window and opens up the radiotime app.  I did a quick search for the most recently updated files on my PC and nothing came up for Radiotime.  Does anyone know the default install location and is there a better way to get the app to show in MCE?  I just don't like the fact that the work around I setup closes and reopens MCE.
