I never would of thought to click that bar before. Thanks for the tip. Now I jsut need to get a few more HTPC built. I tried this out on my system connected to the HDHR and on the HD tab I found very few HD tv programs once you got out of the 8-10 time. But my HDHR only picked up about 5 unencrypted channels. I hope to get an antenna soon to see what is being broadcast OTA.
HTPC Tip Of The Day: Vista EPG
Well they should make it so you know something is there and not just assume every block should be clicked like a kids flash game at sesame street. Until I saw it here I bet I never noticed the word categories on the side and just thought it was part of the design of the scrolling screen.
I did immediately notice the categories bar when I installed Vista, but never bothered using it since I've never found categories useful for TV. Now that your screenshot shows it expanded, it does do pretty much exactly what I'd expected. So now I never have to actually click it myself. Thanks!
Since I've only been an MCE user just over 2 months now, I'm sure there's some stuff I haven't noticed yet that may be of use to me.

yeah. in MCE2005, you would get to the filters by hitting the GUIDE button again. But then they changed it to hitting the guide button again makes the guide disappear. I lost a debate with an eHome team member that i prefered the older method as this one takes a lot more clicks.
