CPU and Mobo for new HTPC

Hello everyone

I have a pretty simple and straight forward question witch i dearly hope someone can help me with. Im about to build a new HTPC, and my main priority is HD video and most of all HD audio bitstreaming like DTS-HD MA and Dolby-TrueHD. What i want to know is what specs am i looking for when i choose motherboard and CPU, to meet these requirements??? What i have been able to find so far is:

CPU: Intel Core i3 2105
Mobo: Intel Desktop Board DH67CF

I want to be able to bitstream the sound, so it goes COMPLETELY untouched to my AVR. HD video playback is pretty much unavoidable these days Smile

Thanks

I think you'll be fine with that set-up.  I'm running a Core i3 2100T an a DH67GD motherboard and while I haven't bothered making sure everything can bitstream audio, the HD works great, and bitstreaming the audio should work if I configure it.

You might find some useful information in this guide: http://www.missingremote.com/guide/bitstreaming-hdmi-hd-audio-formats-yo...

It doesn't have the latest generation of GPUs listed, but they should all be capable of bitstreaming audio.

Your proposed parts will bitstream HD audio without issue. You can find a rundown of more recent GPU bitstreaming capabilities in our GPU Comparison guide.
